Oscar winner Robert Zemeckis, creator of hits "Forrest Gump", "Lot" and "Cast Away. Beyond the world, he portrays Steve Carell in a role we have never seen in the cinema. Based on a true story, the film "Welcome to Marwen" is an extraordinary story of struggle to heal the body and soul thanks to art and imagination.

The brutal assault and consequent heavy injuries erased all memories from Mark Hogancamp (Carell). There was little chance that she would ever recover. But Mark, trying to get together a part of his new and old life, invents the city of Marwen. Marwen is a model, an installation in which Mark, as Captain Hogie, a brave pilot from World War II, fights victoriously with enemies with the help of puppet-actors. He can rely on his allies. They are dolls depicting strong women who know from the real world. They give him the strength that allows him to stand up to the final confrontation with the enemy as real as possible.

Image inspired by the extraordinary story told in the documentary "Marwencole" directed by Jeff Malmberg. In the film - in addition to Oscar® nominee Steve Carell - we will see, among others, Leslie Mann, Merritt Wever, Eliza González, Gwendolyn Christie, Janelle Monáe, Leslie Zemeckis and Diane Kruger and Neil Jackson.
